Employment & Training Programs - Murraylands

The Murraylands Skills for Jobs in Regions recognises the need for a highly-skilled workforce to meet the needs of our changing economy and labour market.  Through our partnerships we have a shared knowledge of state and regional industry workforce planning needs.  This knowledge is the basis for priorities and actions identified in the Murraylands Strategic and Action Plan.

The Murraylands Skills for Jobs in Regions is supported by key members that represent target groups identified as a priority area within this plan and the Murraylands region.

Through the Skills for Jobs in Regions continued investment in the regions workforce participation needs, our community can build the foundations for the Murraylands to enjoy social and economic prosperity.

A key strength of the Murraylands is its strong partnerships and the ability to work collaboratively across sectors to achieve the best results to address skills shortages in the region.  These partnerships provide the region with the capacity to address the following three priorities:

  • Ensure that people with low educational attainment have access to learning, training and employment pathways
  • Assist individuals who are marginalised in the labour market to transition to sustainable learning, training and employment pathways
  • Increase workforce participation through taking advantage of regional opportunities for economic growth
