Welcome to the Coorong
We would like to welcome you to the Coorong located in South Australia, just 45 minutes east from the capital city of Adelaide.
Welcome from the Mayor

- Mayor - Roger Strother
The Coorong is a unique region where the River Murray meets the sea. We are certainly entering a very exciting phase of growth for this region. The Coorong continues to evolve with changing demands being placed on industries both from internal and external sources. Establishment of an export accredited olive crushing and bottling plant is the first stage of new industrial development for the region. In planning for the future the elected members and staff of the Coorong District Council have formulated five Strategic Objectives which propose a very exciting time ahead. As Mayor of the Coorong District Council I invite new residents and business investors to join us in growing our region.
Welcome from the Chief Executive

- Chief Executive - Michael Boyd
Traditionally, the Coorong encompasses broad-acre agriculture, intensive dairying, horticulture, bulk grain handling and tourism. Promotion of commercial rural and domestic development, including alternative energy and transport logistics will underpin a period of sustainable growth and forge a new direction for the region. There are many exciting developments in the Coorong region including the expansion of the olive processing and bottling plant in Tailem Bend. Housing development is occurring in many towns throughout the region and this growth will see an increase in population and services over the coming years. As Chief Executive, I invite you to browse this website to gather more information and commence investment in the Coorong region.
